Therapeutic Massage in Lancaster, PA
Therapeutic massages are a helpful way to encourage relaxation and promote whole-body healing. When combined with chiropractic treatment, massage therapy can correct subluxations, improve posture, and increase range of motion.
Our customized massage treatments stimulate your nervous system, which in turns helps regulate your body’s other systems, including your circulatory system, immune system, and lymph system. This provides several benefits to your body’s healing capabilities and overall well-being, including releasing endorphins and serotonin, reduction of scar tissue, increased lymph flow, and improved recovery from soft-tissue injury. Therapeutic massage helps patients suffering from insomnia, sports injuries, anxiety, digestion system problems, fibromyalgia, and headaches. And regular prenatal massages helps women care for their body during every step of their pregnancy.
Benefits of Therapeutic Massages
As part of a regular chiropractic treatment plan, massage therapy patients typically experience:
- Reduced blood pressure
- Improved sleep
- Reduced levels of stress, depression, and anxiety
Our skilled, licensed massage therapists are trained in a variety of techniques, including Swedish, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, and reflexology. Working in collaboration with your chiropractor, the massage therapist will create a massage plan that integrates with your current treatments for optimal healing. During the massage, the therapist can adapt the treatment based on your feedback and preferences.
What to Expect During A Therapeutic MassageDuring your therapeutic massage, one of our licensed massage therapists will ask you to lie down on a massage table. Depending on the type of massage, you may be fully clothed or undressed. If you’re asked to undress, the massage therapist will leave the room to provide you with privacy. You will then be able to cover your body with clean sheets or towels.
A therapeutic massage can last anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the necessary treatment and your preferences. After your massage, you’ll have privacy in which to get dressed. You will then be able to talk to the massage therapist about any questions or concerns.
